Abstract
ABSTRACT
This research aims to analyze the influence of the school principal's democratic leadership style on the improvement of teacher performance at MTs 2 Miftahul Ulum Banyuputih Kidul. The study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. The subjects were the head of the madrasah and teachers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results indicate that democratic leadership based on deliberation (syura) and employee empowerment significantly enhances teacher motivation and work productivity. Teachers feel involved in decision-making processes, which fosters a sense of ownership and moral responsibility towards their duties. Furthermore, this leadership style effectively supports the integration of science and religion within curriculum management. In conclusion, democratic leadership has a positive impact on teacher performance by creating a harmonious, disciplined, and innovative organizational climate, as well as strengthening Islamic worldview values within the educational institution.
